What you get

  • Warehouses, locations, lots and serial tracking
  • Double-entry stock valuation aligned with accounting
  • Transfers, adjustments and movement history
  • Low-stock alerting

What each role gets

  • Warehouse user — Runs the warehouse floor: posts receipts, shipments, internal transfers, and returns, records lots and serial numbers, and runs cycle counts that turn physical recounts into posted adjustments. Reads the catalogue, warehouse locations, and the reorder queue to prioritize receiving work, while item, warehouse, and location setup stay with the manager and admin. Every move is append-only and traceable by reference number, so the stock ledger stays honest and auditable.
  • Inventory manager — Owns the catalogue and its valuation: creates items and variants, chooses each item's costing method — weighted-average, FIFO, or standard — and sets the low-stock threshold that drives the reorder queue. Runs cycle counts, write-offs, and found-stock adjustments, tracks lots and serials with expiry alerts, and reads real-time on-hand and cost-layer valuation per location. A Replenishment view turns raw stock levels into a prioritized restocking decision — items below reorder, stockout urgency, estimated purchase value — with an AI summary of what needs attention first.
  • Tenant admin — Lays the foundation everyone else works on: confirms the module license, creates warehouses and their locations — including the special location types integrations depend on — defines units of measure, and toggles feature flags for lots/serials tracking and multi-warehouse support. Grants the Inventory Manager and Warehouse User roles to staff, then steps back and leaves day-to-day catalogue, moves, and counts to them. Getting locations and a starter unit of measure right up front is what lets order fulfillment and stock counts post automatically and cleanly from day one.

Frequently asked questions

Does inventory valuation reach accounting?

Yes — stock moves are valued double-entry, so inventory and the general ledger reconcile by construction.
